It is hard to be creative and imaginative especially when you haven&#8217;t fully awakened yet. <p> Did you know that <a target='_blank' href="http://lowcarbsnacks.xanga.com/">low carb snacks</a>, including low carb muffins, can be prepared ahead of time and kept in the fridge until such time they are needed? In fact, they can last several days and can be great for breakfasts on the go.   When you don&#8217;t have time to eat at home you can simply grab them from the fridge, and take them to the office with you.</p>
<p>Other foods that you can prepare in advance include pancakes.  You can make a delicious coconut pancake in advance and store carefully in the fridge.   After reheating them, you can make a delicious breakfast with the addition of some sugar free syrup or butter.  It is not at all complicated to prepare these pancakes.  Just mix together the coconut flour, some eggs, butter and then add some vanilla extract.  Then cook in a frying pan until golden.   Adding some coconut cream would make the pancake fluffier and softer.</p>
<p> Squash egg pancake is another great alternative.   Just grate some squash or zucchini, add eggs and coconut flour.  Hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce can then be added afterwards to add flavor.  What you get is a delicious pancake with a zing! </p>
<p> If you&#8217;re lucky to have enough time in the mornings to prepare a proper breakfast, you can play around with eggs and come up with scrambles, omelets and egg bakes.  Both are easy to make.   If you want, you can experiment with some different variations of these dishes.   There are times when simple omelets and scrambles are added with mushrooms and onions.  Flavor can also be added by throwing in some bacon in there.  You should give your creativity free rein, though.   Leeks, for one, work amazingly in adding taste.  Squash and broccoli add lots of color.  Then there are lots of meats that can be added too ranging from chicken to procuitto. </p>
<p>Egg bakes are just as easy to make.  These usually involve cooking some vegetables like onions and spinach with some salt and garlic in a frying pan or skillet first.  Once cooked, leave the vegetables in the skillet and crack an egg on top.  Then place the entire skillet into the oven to bake until the egg is done.  This may require varying amounts of time in the oven depending on how raw or cooked you like your eggs. </p>
<p> Low carb cereals are great for those who prefer hot but quick and easy-to-prepare breakfasts.   You can choose to buy them straight off the shelves or scrounge up some ingredients and prepare them yourself. Flax meal and almond butter make a great combination when mixed with some hot water.  You can then add some sugar free syrup or flavoring to it to create an amazingly delicious hot cereal. </p>
<p>There are plenty more options for low carb breakfast foods as well as lots of variations on the foods described above.   In time, you will be familiar with the dishes that suit you the most as you try them all.  Then you will find cooking breakfast an absolute breeze!</p>

<p>Oysters can be prepared in fresh and new ways. It is common to enjoy oysters raw with just a plain squeeze of lemon, though there are other options for serving them. For example, put some shelled open oysters in a pan and coat them with a small amount of cream. Add some Parmesan cheese along with some fresh pepper, then broil until it bubbles. Not a fan of that method? Try sauteing the oysters instead.</p>
<p>Prepare in advance as much as possible. The prep work should be done before you even start cooking. If you are cooking a complex dish, take some of the stress out of it by having your needed ingredients lined up and ready. Having as much prep work done as possible will save you both time and frustration!</p>
<p>The best utensils are made of rubber, silicone or nylon. These should always be used with nonstick pans. These materials are soft enough that they will not scratch the surface of your pan unlike metal or wood. When a nonstick coating is scratched, it not only becomes less effective, it also flakes pieces of the chemicals used to coat the pan into your food. Do not used coated cookware that has been damaged because ingesting it could be dangerous.</p>
<p>If you need to warm up leftovers that are oily but don&#8217;t want to contend with the greasy mess, try baking them in the oven instead of popping them in the microwave. Because the oil heats the fastest out of the ingredients, the heat that comes out of the microwave can make it separate from the rest of the meal. Baking will keep the ingredients more cohesive.</p>
<p>Blot raw meat before you grill or sear it. Blotting the moisture away will help the meat cook better. Any moisture in left in meat will be released during the cooking process. It will cause the meat to sizzle. This could cause your meat to steam, instead of searing.</p>
<p>If you are having people over to your home to eat, and you are including a salad with the meal, allow your guests to put the dressing on themselves. Some people enjoy lots of dressing when eating salads so it is important that each person add their own dressing. Your guests will also enjoy having a variety of dressings from which to choose.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Whenever I tell people that my Cholesterol levels are high they simply don&#8217;t believe me.  They think I&#8217;m kidding.  I&#8217;m 5 feet 5 inches in height, weigh 115 pounds, get a fair amount of exercise and have what most would perceive to be moderate eating and drinking habits.  How could my cholesterol levels have gotten so high?</p>
<p>
Putting that question aside for the time being, the more important question to address is what is the simplest way in which to reduce cholesterol levels?  The first thing to address would appear to be to set about reducing the intake of saturated fats.</p>
<p>
I&#8217;m a pretty strong willed person and if I decide to do something I don&#8217;t find it too difficult to make the necessary changes to achieve my goals.  So I resolved to reduce animal fats to a bare minimum, cut out my morning cookies, chocolate brownie snacks, red meat, cheese and butter.  You get the picture. I have to admit to feeling a little deprived, but on the whole could see the probable long term benefits so resigned myself to that regime.</p>
<p>
Four months later I considered it about time to have another cholesterol check.  I was feeling pretty pleased with my performance and looked forward to seeing the expected results.  That feeling changed when I saw that my cholesterol levels had reduced by the most minimal amount imaginable.  It seemed that I had made an awful lot of dietary concessions for a very miniscule benefit.  The cost-benefit trade-off didn&#8217;t seem so good!</p>
<p>
Time to reassess the situation.  Perhaps I was genetically predisposed to having high levels of cholesterol?  Would medication be the best route?  I&#8217;m a great believer that if you can do something naturally then that is eminently preferable to pursuing a less natural alternative.  Medication for me would certainly be a last resort.</p>
<p>
My motivation however was wilting somewhat and so it became important to regroup and find additional ways in which to redouble my efforts.  Clearly I would have to be super-strict about eliminating all of those saturated fats.  No cheating.  No kidding myself that a little bit would be OK.</p>
<p>
I also started Googling for easy ways to help lose cholesterol.  I found a pretty good list of tips to help on WebMD.  Only experts provide the information contained therein and so I decided it was a suitably well-researched list of tips to follow.</p>
<p>
I started to tick things off the list.  I already walked more than 10,000 steps a day.  I was already avoiding saturated fats.   I was already eating more fiber and lots of fish.  I already drank a sufficiently small amount of alcohol so as not to exceed the recommended intake.  I&#8217;m a non-smoker.</p>
<p>
There was also a suggestion to drink Green tea.  Now I have to admit to not being fond of the taste.  A little additional Googling suggested that taking seaweed/algae tablets daily for an 8-week period could assist in a similar way to reduce cholesterol.  And so I signed up to take these as a supplement.  That seemed to me to be a simple alternative.  I like to keep things simple!  If things are simple to effect then they are easy to stick to.</p>
<p>
There was also a suggestion to eat a handful of nuts each day.  I love nuts and so that was easy to sign up for as well.  Being careful, I did check out which nuts were best and was more than happy to comply.</p>
<p>
The last recommendation was to switch spreads to those that contained cholesterol-lowering plant compounds.  I did try to cook using these types of spreads; rather unsuccessfully I&#8217;m afraid, and reverted to cooking with a little dab of olive oil or other &quot;good fats&quot;.</p>
<p>
I don&#8217;t tend to eat much food that requires spreads but when I did I used to eat good old butter.  Those days are gone now as I have eliminated spreads.  But not wanting to miss out on taking something that could be cholesterol-reducing I discovered some yogurts which served the same purpose. I now happily consume two of these every day.</p>
<p>
I&#8217;m giving myself a six-month period of following my new eating rules before taking another cholesterol test.  This seems an appropriate time frame to give my body a chance to reflect these changes.  I have resigned myself to the fact that it&#8217;s not going to be a quick fix for me.</p>
<p>
I am sure that many people have traversed this same pathway.  I&#8217;m not alone in having unexpectedly high cholesterol that proves a little stubborn to shift.</p>
<p>
There are many people with less healthy habits than myself who manage to motivate themselves to make serious changes in their eating habits and in their lifestyle.  Having a target or a goal is an important factor in motivation and this is also mentioned on that list of tips.</p>
<p>
Being able to see those far-off benefits and keep focusing upon them is also a part of the motivation process.  If you have trouble in doing this then you will probably find that hypnosis helps.
